Crown:
dark purplish-blue
Nape: yellow side patch back of nape reddish orange
Face: chin and throat and most of face reddish-orange
Back and Wings: : bright green wing primaries tipped blackish
Underwing: black with yellow and green
Chin and Chest: reddish barred with dark blu
Belly: dark green
Thighs: yellow-green
Uppertail: dark green with yellowish tips
Undertail: yellowish and pinkish at the base
Beak: orange
Eye: iris orange
Legs: gray-green
Same coloration in both sexes.

Found mostly in pairs or small groups, sometimes with Yellow-and-Green

habitat/range
Habitat:
Found in forest edge, secondary forest, bushy open terrain, cultivated
plots and towns, upland valleys but rarely in primary forest
Chiefly at 320-550 ft, but sometime up to 3300 ft.
Range: Sulawesi Island and surrounding islands in the Celebes, Indonesia.
