THE PROBLEM:

Global Warming- The Plight of the Polar Bear

With Earth's temperatures on the rise, polar bear survival is on "thin ice." The ice they need to reach their prey is melting quickly, which is shortening the bears' hunting season and increasing the distances the bears need to swim from iceberg to iceberg.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

Project Polar Bear is a way for small groups of young people to make a big difference! Polar Bears International's Project Polar Bear challenges teens to develop community projects that will reduce the carbon dioxide load in the atmosphere. Registration closes 7/31.
There is a loophole in the Marine Mammal Protection Act that still allows the importation of polar bear heads and hides. Help the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) close this loophole with the Polar Bear Protection Act.
