Future for Wildlife Grants Program
The Oregon Zoo Foundation's Future for Wildlife Conservation Fund
awards small grants semi-annually in support of
field conservation programs in the Pacific Northwest and abroad.
Projects are funded that have the greatest impact on conservation actions. Projects must directly
contribute to the survival of populations that are free-living animal species and the ecosystems
in which they are found.
What to know before applying:
- The grant is not for/does not include/allow overhead
costs or miscellaneous expenses.
- Funds are only distributed to organizations, not individuals.
- Only one proposal per individual can be submitted.
- Proposals that do not follow guidelines listed below will not
be considered.
- All required application materials must be sent in together
Dates to know (updated 3/09)
Proposals must be received by June 15 and December 15, respectively. Deadline for application and accompanying documentation is end of business day on these dates.
Applications are reviewed in July and January of each calendar year.
Award notifications will be made in August and February. Successful
grantees will be required to submit photos and a report at the end
of the grant cycle.
Materials required for your proposal
In addition to the Grant Application Form the proposal must also include

Curriculum Vitae of applicant; two pages maximum
- Letters of recommendation from at least two individuals familiar with the applicant and the proposal

Proposals are evaluated by considering the following criteria:
- Demonstration of existing community support

Clear and measurable goals

Reporting plan

Level of conservation priority

Potential conservation impact

Capacity building
