Zoo-Based Conservation Efforts
Oregon Zoo is dedicated to helping preserve native
species of the Pacific Northwest. The zoo is involved
in six breeding programs to help boost populations
of endangered or sensitive species. The zoo also
established and manages the Jonsson Center
for Species Survival, which houses our condor and
Washington pygmy rabbit breeding programs. |

In-Situ Conservation Efforts
In-situ conservation means conservation work happening
in the field. Oregon Zoo, through the Future For Wildlife, funds
projects in the Pacific Northwest, North
America and throughout the world. |

Future for Wildlife Grants
Future for Wildlife is funded through
direct donations,
a 25¢ surcharge on all gate admissions and
the Zoo Parent program proceeds. Through these fund-raising efforts, Future for Wildlife
is able to give grants to many conservation projects.
Another grant program sponsored by Future for Wildlife is the Endangered
Species Justice Fund. |

Public Awareness Conservation Campaigns
Oregon Zoo is committed to educating visitors and the general public
about relevant conservation issues. As a member of the Northwest Zoo and Aquarium
Alliance, Oregon Zoo helps inform the public about programs important
to the group. |
