Northwest Zoo & Aquarium Alliance
The Northwest Zoo & Aquarium Alliance (NWZAA) is a consortium
of 10 Pacific Northwest zoos and aquariums working together to preserve
and protect Northwest wildlife and critical habitat through education,
research and advocacy.
Members include Oregon Zoo, Boise Zoo, High Desert Museum, Northwest
Trek Wildlife Park, Oregon Coast Aquarium, Point Defiance Zoo and
Aquarium, Seattle Aquarium, Vancouver (BC) Aquarium, Woodland Park
Zoo and Wildlife Safari.
NWZAA is also partnered with the Washington Department of Fish and
Wildlife and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Our goal is to foster pride and a caring attitude in our visitors,
volunteers and staff towards the Pacific Northwest.
The Pacific Northwest is our big back yard and is a unique eco-region
that we can be proud of and that needs our care. We need your help in
protecting and conserving the Pacific Northwest. It is ours to protect.
It is home to an amazing diversity of animals and plants due to
the unique habitats created by the interface of land, water and weather found
only in this region. We are a part of this special eco-region system,
which we share with many other species and impact in may ways. Zoos and
aquariums of the Pacific Northwest are working to protect and restore
habitat and species in trouble.
