Spring Break ZooVenture Camp 2008

 

Camp days include touchable animal visits in the classroom, guided zoo tours, games, crafts, stories and songs. New animal themes and activities make each day special. Children may attend one day, several days or all the days offered, whatever best fits your schedule.

Early drop-off (8 a.m. - 9 a.m./$5 per day) and late pick-up (4 p.m. - 6 p.m./$10 per day) are available. Please indicate on the registration form if you need early or late care. Children are supervised in a classroom with games, and videos are available.

Ages 4 - Kindergarten
Time:
Half-day sessions: 9 a.m. to Noon OR 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost:
Zoo members: $15 per person
Non-members: $18 per person

Grades 1-4
Time:
Full-day sessions: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost:
Zoo members: $30 per person
Non-members: $35 per person

How do animals get along in families and neighborhoods? It's all pretty wild. Chimpanzees, elephants and hissing cockroaches each have unique ways of behaving. Learn how different kinds of animals play, socialize and interact.

At Home with the Animals

Tuesday, March 25

Lodges, dens, nests and burrows are crafty places for homes. Get the inside story about some talented animal architects. Admire the handiwork of hyrax, the creative construction of African weaverbirds, the complex tunnels of naked mole rats and more.

Feeding Frenzy

Wednesday, March 26

Meet hunters of the wild who hunt alone or in groups and take on the role of predator. Many animals use spectacular displays and clever tricks to avoid being caught. Take a look at the very clever and resourceful predator and prey animals.

Movers and Shakers

Thursday, March 27

- The camp for 3rd grade has been filled.

Discover how animals climb, fly, glide, dive and survive in the wild. Tamarins and lemurs are agile tree dwellers and mountain goats are great rock climbers. Watch 'em all move and shake.

A close look at the amazing ways animals bring up their young in the wild and in the Zoo. Look at who's the best parent, which kids are the wildest and who has the biggest families.
