8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.


A behind-the-scenes tour of the Zoo railway. Visit workshops, a locomotive cab, operate the handcar and see "Operation Lifesaver". Take a private train ride just for the class.

Zoo Members: $25 for two persons | $12 each additional
Non-members: $29 for two persons | $14 each additional

 

Steam Train Class
Saturday, July 19 or August 16
adults only
8:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m.

Go “behind-the-scenes” of the Washington Park and Zoo Railway. See how the steam locomotive works and learn railway history. Hop aboard for a special photo run-by, bring your camera or camcorder! Wear work clothes.

Zoo Members: $30 per person
Non-members: $35 per person.

 

I'll Be Working On The Railroad
Saturday, September 13
Ages 10 and up w/ adult
8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Prepare the steam train: roll out the train, light the fire, and oil the valves with the train crew. Peek inside the boiler and tour the shops.  Bring your camera or camcorder for a train ride including a photo “run-by”. Wear work clothes.

Zoo Members: $44 for two persons, $12 each additional.
Non-members: $52 for two persons, $14 each additional.
