Scheduling and Cost
KestrelOregon Zoo has a variety of birds, small mammals, reptiles and insects available to visit your school. Classroom presentations and full school assemblies are available.

Classroom size shows are available starting at $50. Assemblies are $250 for the first show (max 400 students) and $175 for each additional presentation at the same school on the same day. Travel costs will be added for schools outside a 50-mile radius from the zoo.

Wild Life Live Assembly

Peregrine FalconThis 40 minute exciting presentation features 6 birds. Students get a close experience with birds they would only be able to see from a distance in the wild. They will get a chance to see the birds up close and see them fly! Our birds are trained to perform natural behaviors and may fly right over their heads. Learn about natural history, conservation efforts and the important roles that birds of prey play in the wild. Birds in this program may include a falcon, hawk, owl, vulture and an eagle.

Audience: Show presentation can be for any age group. Limit of 400 people for one assembly. If group is larger, best to break into 2 assemblies.
Duration: ~40 minutes
Groups size: 400 maximum
Cost: $250 for one assembly, $425 for two on the same day.

Room: Presentations given in gyms, cafeterias, auditoriums or very large rooms. If rooms have windows, windows need to be covered or curtains closed.

Availability: Flighted shows are presented during October.

What is a Bird?
Duration: 30 minutes
Group Size: 30 students max.

Hadada IbisStories, live animals, and activities bring to life the characteristics of birds. Learn how feathers, eggs and beaks make birds unique. Includes two birds (at least one touchable) and touchable biofacts.

Looking up at a tall treeAnimal Homes
Duration: 30 minutes
Group Size: 30 students max.

All animals need a safe home. Learn what birds and other animals look for in a perfect home. Includes two animals (at least one touchable) and touchable biofacts.

Critter Coverings
Duration: 45 minutes
Group Size: 30 students max.
Cost: $85 for first program/ $70 for additional programs on the same day (up to 4)

Feathers for flying, scales for slithering and fur for fluffing…. Discover how all these different body coverings help these animals survive. Includes a raptor, reptile and mammal (at least one animal will be touchable) and touchable biofacts.

Home Sweet HabitatOrang with house
Duration: 45 minutes
Group Size: 30 students max.
Cost: $85 for first program/ $70 for additional programs on the same day (up to 4)

Compare your home with animal homes. What do you have in common? What is different? With help from some animals, discover what all living things need to survive. Includes a raptor, reptile and mammal (at least one animal will be touchable) and touchable biofacts.

ArmadilloAdaptations
Duration: 60 minutes
Group Size: 30 students max.
Cost: $100 for first program/ $85 for additional programs on the same day (up to 4)

Learn how feet, teeth, fur and feathers help animals find enough food. Discover special adaptations of predators and prey that help them eat and avoid being eaten by others. Includes a raptor, reptile and mammal (at least one animal will be touchable) and touchable biofacts.

Live Animal Presentations

Red-Tailed HawkAnimals help children connect with nature. We can bring animals to your group to help make learning fun.

Animals: Choose from birds, reptiles, insects or rats.
Audience: Presentation can be targeted to any age, but best for grades K-3. Limit of one classroom per presentation. Please do not combine classrooms.
Cost: $50 for one animal. Additional charge for more. Call for details.
Availability: Available October-February.
