ZOO'S GONE WILD SPRING BREAK PARTY
March 24 - April 6
Can't head to the tropics for Spring Break? Stop by Oregon Zoo instead. Wear your Hawaiian shirt and stroll around to tropical tunes. Keepers, volunteers and zoo staff have collaborated on a week chock full of activities that are just as fun for the animals as they are for the people.

2008 WORLD WILD TOURS PREVIEW
April 1 | 5 p.m.
Oregon Zoo Sunset Room
Preview tours to the ends of the earth to peer at polar bears or
penguins with Oregon Zoo biologists. The zoo's 2008 Wild World Tour
schedule offers close encounters with wildlife in remote corners
of the world, including a polar bear trip to Churchill, Manitoba
(the “Polar
Bear Capital of the World”), and an Antarctic wildlife cruise.

Amphibian Conservation Workshop
Monday, April 7 | Time: 8:30 a.m. -
5 p.m.
Oregon Zoo Skyline Room
Workshop registration fee is $25 and includes lunch.
Amphibian populations are declining, both in the Pacific Northwest
and around the globe. Your actions can have a positive impact on
the future of these animals. By coordinating our efforts, we can
learn from each other and find effective solutions. For more information,

ELEPHANTASTIC!
Saturday - Sunday, April 12 - 13 | Time: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
An elephant-sized celebration! Come see why Oregon Zoo is a world leader in Asian elephant care. Our elephant family is ready for a party this weekend. Watch special training sessions, play games and wear your own elephant ears.
Saturday:
Packy's Birthday Party! The world's most famous pachyderm is turning 46 this year, and we've got cake for everyone! Lamb's Thriftway Markets is providing yummy cake for all the humans starting at noon, and Packy gets his own special cake at 2 p.m.
Sunday:
Rama, Packy's 25-year-old son, will be doing painting demonstrations throughout the day, then he gets his birthday cake at 1 p.m. More birthday cake will be served for the humans, too!
ALL WEEKEND:
Play elephant games, learn about baby elephants and how much elephants eat. Speaking of eating, we'll have cake for everyone provided Lamb's Thriftway Markets all weekend long! Rama's paintings will be for sale in the Elephant Museum, plus don't forget to check out the unique plush elephants in the Zoo Store.

| Silent Invasion Screening
April 14 | 6:30 p.m.
Cascade Crest Banquet Center
Oregon Zoo hosts the public screening of OPB's documentary "Silent Invasion." The hour-long documentary special records the damage from a variety of invasive species from the economic consequences to the social and environmental costs. It also highlights success stories and points viewers toward action they can take.

PARTY FOR THE PLANET!

Celebrate with your favorite
party animals! Fun for everyone includes games and crafts, plus
learn some easy ways that you can help keep our planet healthy.
The zoo's polar bears are getting special enrichment, to continue
our Year of the Polar Bear festivities and draw attention to
climate change and what we can do about it.
This event is FREE with zoo admission.

Wildlife Conservation
Lecture Series
Tuesday, April 29 | Time: 7 p.m.
The Wildlife
Conservation Lecture Series, hosted by Oregon Zoo, Audubon Society
of Portland and World Forestry Center, will be held in Oregon Zoo's
Cascade Banquet Center. Cost for each lecture: $10 general admission,
$8 for members of host organizations, students and seniors.
