Polar BearPOLAR BEAR DAYS
Thursday, Feb. 28 | 9:45 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Saturday, March 1 | 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Learn about the polar bear crisis in the Arctic and what you can do to help save the world's largest land carnivore.

Start the day by visiting a hands-on polar bear learning station, discovering little known facts about the bears, and take home special polar bear gifts. The day continues when polar bears receive plastic balls and ice blocks to play and interact with. Afterwards, keepers discuss issues the bears face and what contributes to their decline. "Arctic Ambassador" Kaitlyn Cassimo is on-hand all day to discuss her trip to the polar bear capitol of the world, Churchill, Canada.

HOMESCHOOL SAFARI
Tuesday March 11 | 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. -- FULL

Home School Safari

The Oregon Zoo invites homeschool students and their families to an educational "safari" to learn about wildlife together.

First, stop by the Kalahari Room to experience multiple discovery stations featuring live animals such as snakes and birds of prey from the Northwest. Learn about animal adaptations and habitats. Afterwards, safari-goers receive an activity flier and go on a self-guided exploration of the zoo's Great Northwest exhibit, a journey that takes them from the crest of the Cascades to the Pacific Coast. Learn about a variety of animals, including mountain goats, black bears, bobcats, beaver, river otter, cougars, bald eagles, wolves, elk, sea otters, sea lions and even rockfish.

Admission is $7 per person and includes a $2 food coupon that can be used anywhere inside the zoo.

Red Ape Reserve at the Oregon ZooAN EVENING FOR THE ORANGUTANS
A Fundraising Event for Red Ape Reserve at the Oregon Zoo
March 16 | 5 p.m. Doors and Auction Open | 6 p.m. Dinner


Join the effort to create a more exciting new home for our orangutans - Batik, Inji and Kutai - and our gibbons, Phyllis and Duffy. Metro, the zoo's governing agency, has generously provided funds to build Red Ape Reserve, an indoor/outdoor exhibit. Funds raised through the dinner and auction will provide sway poles as enrichment for the animals. Sway poles mimic the movement of small trees as the animals navigate through the forest.Tickets are $25 and include entrance and dinner.

Polar Bears enjoying green ice treatsST. PADDY'S DAY WITH POLAR BEARS
Monday, March 17 | Time: 9:45 a.m & 10:00 a.m.

Join the Oregon Zoo on St. Patrick's Day to continue its Year of the Polar Bear celebration.

Start the morning off at 9:45 a.m. and experience a hands-on learning station. Discover little known facts about the bears, and find out what you can do to at home to help them out and reduce your carbon footprint. Guests also receive special polar bear puzzles and bookmarks.

At 10 a.m. watch polar bears and sea and otters play with special green ice treats filled with seafood. The Oregon Zoo's Arctic Ambassador Andrew Eberle is available all morning to talk about his trip to Churchill, Canada, the polar bear capital of the world.

Girl hunting for eggs at Rabbit RompRABBIT ROMP
Saturday, March 22 | Time: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

The Rabbit Romp is a celebration of spring for all ages. Candy "egg" hunts occur
every 20 minutes for children ages 2-10. Don't forget to bring an Easter basket
for the egg hunt.
Learn about the zoo's conservation efforts to protect our regional
endangered pygmy rabbits. Games, petting zoo and fun for everyone.

Goat gone wild at Zoo's Spring Break PartyZOO'S GONE WILD SPRING BREAK PARTY

SPRING ZOOVENTURE DAY CAMP
Monday-Friday, March 24-28 | Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Age 4 years - 4th grade

Spend spring break having fun at the zoo! Meet the animals and visit their exhibits. Games, crafts and stories with zoo animal themes allow kids age 4 years - 4th grade to experience a different part of the zoo each camp day.

Falcon Wildlife Conservation Lecture Series
Tuesday, March 25 | Time: 7 p.m.

The Wildlife Conservation Lecture Series, hosted by Oregon Zoo, Audubon Society of Portland and World Forestry Center, will be held in Oregon Zoo's Cascade Banquet Center. Cost for each lecture: $10 general admission, $8 for members of host organizations, students and seniors.
