ZOOLIGHTS

The zoo comes alive as you walk through this winter wonderland of more than a million lights. This winter festival includes our lighted zoo train, choral and ensemble music, and our fantastic gift shop. |

FROGS!
Through Jan. 4 | 2:30 - 7:30 p.m.
FROGS!, an exciting traveling exhibition, is the zoo's latest seasonal attraction. The exhibit features several frog species, including the White's tree frog, Vietnamese mossy frog, fire belly toad and poison dart frog among others. Tadpole Tales-story time, fun-filled educational activities and a kiosk that emits frog sounds...that's just to name a few of the exhibit's many highlights. |

Tour the zoo for the discounted price of $2 per person. Children under 3 years of age will, as always, be admitted free of charge.

CHINESE NEW YEAR
Monday, Jan. 26
Celebrate the Year of the Ox!
Keeper Talk at 10:30 a.m. at Malayan Sun Bears, whose range includes southern China. Keepers will talk about the endangered sun bears and their imperiled status.
Visit other Oregon Zoo residents represented on the Chinese Zodiac, such as tigers, rabbits, snakes, sheep, goats, monkeys, roosters and pigs.
Enjoy Chinese cuisine in the zoo's Cascade Grill. |

Wildlife Conservation
Lecture Series
Tuesday, Jan. 27 | Time: 7 p.m.
Dr. Laurence Frank: "Living With Lions"
Sponsored by Pro Photo Supply and Shiels Obletz Johnsen and Portland General Electric.
Ten years ago, lions were abundant in much of East Africa, but sadly, that simply isn't true anymore. Living with Lions works with the Masai warriors, using their ancient knowledge and traditions to preserve wildlife and help their communities benefit from conservation.
The Wildlife
Conservation Lecture Series, hosted by Oregon Zoo, Audubon Society of Portland
and World Forestry Center, will be held in Oregon Zoo's Cascade Banquet
Center. Cost for each lecture: $10 general admission, $8 for members of
host organizations, students and seniors. |
Oregon Zoo OrangutanS Predict the 2009 Super bowl predictions
Friday, Jan. 30 | Time: 10:30 a.m.
The zoo's orangutans will be given T-shirts from the opposing Super Bowl teams. It is said that whichever team's T-shirt the orangs wear first will be
the winner. |
