Howloween 2009Kids love trick-or-treating, and Oregon Zoo provides a fun and safe setting for this traditional Halloween activity. Trick-or-treaters will complete an intriguing scavenger hunt leading them to activity stations around the zoo. Goodie bags filled with candy and prizes will be given out for completed hunts at the zoo's exit. Free with zoo admission. For information, call 503-226-1561.

Conserving Oregon's Native Bats: A workshop for everyone!
Tuesday, Nov. 3 | 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Oregon's native bats are facing new threats in addition to long-term habitat loss. Join researchers, land managers, land-owner organizations, conservation groups, educators, and health officials at the zoo for a workshop where you will hear from internationally-recognized experts and learn about local case studies. Cost is $30, including lunch.

Second TUESDAY
Tuesday, Nov. 10| Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Visit the zoo for the discounted price of $2 per person. Children under 3 years of age will, as always, be admitted free of charge.

4 Mile Run & Fitness Walk starts at 8:00 a.m.
1K Tot Trot (11 & under) starts at 9:30 a.m.
Get ready for Thanksgiving dinner by joining the Oregon Road Runners Club on a four-mile run/walk through Washington Park and the zoo. Registration fee includes zoo admission. For further information, call ORRC (503-646-7867).

The zoo comes alive as you walk through this winter wonderland of more than a million lights. This winter festival includes our lighted zoo train, choral and ensemble music, and our fantastic gift shop. Closed Dec. 24 and 25.
