Double MAX discount
Valid Dec. 16–Jan. 1
Starting Friday, Dec. 16, the Oregon Zoo is doubling its usual public transportation discount for
ZooLights visitors. If you ride the MAX Light Rail or a bus to ZooLights, you can get $3 per person
off ZooLights admission. Offer good for tickets purchased at the gate with proof of ridership. The
zoo always offers a $1.50 public transportation discount for ZooLights and general admission.
Visit TriMet's website for information about public
transit in the Portland metropolitan area.
Holiday light recycling program – free fudge!
Valid during ZooLights, Nov. 25–Jan. 1
If you've been thinking of switching out your old holiday lights for energy-saving LEDs, the Oregon
Zoo is ready to help. Throughout ZooLights, the zoo will be collecting old holiday light strings for
recycling. Just drop off your old lights at the Zoo Store by Sunday, Jan. 1, and you'll get a coupon
for a free piece of Zoo Store fudge in exchange. LEDs are very eco-friendly decorations: They use
just a fraction of the power of standard holiday lights. NOTE: We are not asking for donations
of lights to use at the zoo — all of the lights we collect will be recycled into their component
parts.
Enter to win behind-the-scenes tour at ZooLights EcoBooths
Valid during ZooLights, Nov. 25–Jan. 1
ZooTeen volunteers are running educational "EcoBooths" at the zoo's Family Farm on Saturday and Sunday nights throughout ZooLights. Kids and adults can participate in fun activities about saving water, conserving energy, and "greening" the holidays. All participants will be entered to win a behind-the-scenes tour at the zoo's polar bear exhibit.
