A special day of free admission and train rides for seniors and their companions (one companion per senior). Refreshments, petting zoo, animal talks, live music and entertainment by seniors.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

WHAT AGE IS CONSIDERED “SENIOR”?
At the zoo, a senior is anyone age 65 or older.

DO I NEED TO MAKE RESERVATIONS IF I’M BRINGING A GROUP?
No, there is no need to make reservations.

WHAT ARE THE REFRESHMENTS?
Donut holes and coffee will be available from 9-11 a.m. Will be locate by the tigers. They may be available after that, while supplies last.

WHAT FOOD OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE?
The zoo has many food options for you.

• Cascade Grill: deli and grill food, including a variety of salads, hot sandwiches, burgers, deli sandwiches and specials. Soup of the day, pastries, and espresso.
• Bear Walk Café: pizza and ice cream treats
• AfriCafé: cafeteria style, with burgers, hot dogs, vegetarian wraps and sandwiches, soup of the day.
• Food carts: located around zoo grounds, featuring pretzels, frozen treats, elephant ears, sno-cones and popcorn
• SR. SAFARI SPECIAL LUNCH: a special lunch buffet will be available for only $7.50 for Sr. Safari guests. Soup & sandwich buffet, plus cookie and a beverage. Located at the Picnic Shelter by Elephants.

ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL EXHIBITS FOR SENIOR SAFARI?
Yes! There will be a petting zoo at the farm, as well as “Animal Talkers” at locations around the zoo. In addition to the free train ride.

HOW MANY COMPANIONS CAN COME WITH ME?
As many as you like, but only one companion can come in for free with each senior. Prices are $9.75 for adults age 12-64 and $6.75 for youth 3-11. Children 2 and under are free.

WHERE CAN WE PARK OUR BUS?
You may unload your van or bus at the MAX train station (about 100 yards from the entrance) and then park in the Auxilary parking lot between the Children’s Museum and the Forestry Center.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET THERE?
The easiest and best way to get to the zoo is to ride the MAX train. Information is available at www.trimet.org.  If you have family or friends coming beyond your one free companion, they can receive $1 off of their zoo admission with proof of TriMet fare.

DOES IT COST TO PARK?
Yes, there is a $2 parking fee per vehicle.
