African Wild Dogs
Now that you've seen two of Africa's most impressive cats — the lion and the caracal — the Predators of the Serengeti pathway leads you to a pack of African wild dogs lying in open grassland. One of Africa's most successful predators, wild dogs are persecuted and targeted by many as pests. Here you come nose to nose with these powerful predators. The animals enjoy their heated dens, which allow visitors to get within inches of these fierce animals. The wide glass viewing areas and open-air mesh barriers provide another benefit: You can actually hear the animals communicating with each other in squeaky, high-pitched yips. The dogs' body language helps you identify the most dominant of the pack.
