Our event planners look forward to helping you book your birthday party!
A $50 deposit on a credit card is required to hold your reservation. Deposits are fully refundable up to 14 days before your party. No deposits will be refunded after that time. Party balance due will be run on a designated credit card after the event.

Summer -Memorial Day through Labor Day
Begin your party at the Zoo Train station at the allotted time by boarding the Zoo Train and then travel through lush scenery in the forest of Washington Park to your party area. Exit the train at the Washington Park Station and enjoy the private birthday room and terrace for up to 60 minutes.
Spring & Fall - Check availability
Enjoy the private party space of the Cascade Grill's Sunset Room for up to 90 minutes then gather your guests and head to the train station to ride the "Zoo Loop".

Animal/Conservation:

Chimpanzee Challenge:
April 25-September 20
$1.00 fee each, for birthday groups ($2.00 standard rate)
Swing from vines, soar through treetops, and 'Live Chimply' in the Chimpanzee Challenge maze. Perform feats of ape-like strength, agility, and communication to discover the surprising similarities between humans and chimps. Developed in collaboration with world-renowned primatologist Jane Goodall and the Jane Goodall Institute, Chimpanzee Challenge brings the plight of the chimps closer to home, empowering visitors to make a difference.
Washington Park Loop Train-
The train runs to the Rose Gardens and back to the zoo. Round trip covers four miles and takes 35 minutes.
It runs May 23 to September 7.
Train Price:
$5.00 each for fewer than 20 train tickets (ages 3 and older)
$4.00 each for 20 or more train tickets (ages 3 and older)
Age 2 and under are free, but need a ticket
Parking & Westside Light Rail-
For groups holding birthday parties at the Zoo parking is free. During some seasons, you may incur difficulty parking in the Zoo lot. The easiest access to the Zoo is on Tri-Met's Max Light Rail. The Washington Park Station is only 50 yards from the entrance to the Zoo.
Displays, Decorations & Personal Property-
All displays, decorations, and give-a-way items must be approved. Please check with your party planner prior to the function. Please be aware of the following restrictions:
~No balloons, balls, or Frisbees
~Confetti limited to indoor tabletops only
~Removable mounting squares may be used
~No staples, tacks, tape can be used to affix any materials to the walls
~No glitter or shredded Mylar streamers
~Objects may not be suspended from the ceiling (indoor venues)
Additional charges will apply for extra cleaning required, damage to Zoo property or any missing items.
Property of the client and their guests brought to, or left at the Zoo is the responsibility of the client. The Oregon Zoo will not be liable for any loss or damage to any such property for any reason.
