Education Program Internship

It’s a jungle out there...Why not prepare for it with an internship at the zoo?

Job Description: We are looking for a college junior, senior, or graduate with course work in education, biological sciences, and/or public interpretation for a 10 - 40 hour per week, 10 week long internship. Other time commitments can be negotiated.

What you would do as an intern...
The Conservation Division has a variety of education programs throughout the year. We have interns work in several areas for the broadest range of experience. Possible assignments include:

  • Assisting with the outreach programs to local classrooms
  • Developing web content
  • Writing educational brochures
  • Curriculum writing
  • Program evaluation
  • Interpretive program development
  • Developing teaching tools and resources
  • Teaching education programs in informal setting, i.e.:
    • day camps
    • classes
    • overnights
    • shows
    • preschool

How to apply...
Send your resume and a cover letter that answers the following questions:

  1. What kind of course work and/or experience do you have in science?
  2. What kind of course work and/or experience do you have working with animals?
  3. What kind of course work and/or experience working with preschoolers/children/teenagers/adults?
