Education/Qualifications:

  • College or Culinary Degree
  • OLCC/Food Handlers License
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Ability to handle responsibility

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for cooking staff
  • Maintain business records and performs budget planning
  • Organizing daily menus, events and special functions
  • Make sure the zoo’s food service operations are earth-friendly by purchasing sustainably harvested seafood and as much as possible, organic, locally-grown vegetables and meats and by composting food wastes

Salary Range:

  • $30,000-$55,000 a year

Where do I start?:

  • If they are offered, take cooking classes in school. Math classes will help as well
  • Get as much experience as possible
