Holiday Enrichments

On special days, why can't we have special enrichment? Of course we can! Here's some special fun enrichment that the Oregon Zoo does on these special days-
HalloweenHalloween:
  • Bats made of Paper Mache/ cardboard
  • Jack-O-Lanterns made of pumpkins
  • Scare crows made of straw and feed bags
ThanksgivingThanksgiving:

   Paper Mache turkeys stuffed with treats

SantaChristmas:
  • Christmas tree- a real pine tree given to the grizzlies to tear apart.
  • Wrapped presents with treats inside Cardboard houses- cardboard houses of various sizes, shapes and colors are built creatively by the enrichment team and filled with treats.
  • Cardboard bunnies for the elephants
ValentineValentines Day:

  Heart treats - cardboard boxes shaped in heart shapes with treats.

Super BowlSuper bowl:

  Paper Mache Footballs.

Enrichment Week:
  • All kinds of new treats and toys
  • Many fun displays for people, too!
