Enrichment for tigers

Food - Tigers are carnivores, which mean that they eat only meat and fish.

Families - Males are solitary unless they are courting (mating) females. Females stay with cubs for about 7 months until cubs can fend for themselves.

Location - mountain woodlands- Russia, North Korea, Asia

Enrichment at the Oregon Zoo

* Paper Mache Deer
* Ice treats
* Heated "Balcony" area of the exhibit to sleep on, especially during winter.
* Boomer balls(see common enrichment)
* Large "swimming pool" for hot days built as part of the exhibit
* Tiger Enrich Scare crows stuffed with hay in the fall
* Plastic "Contraption"
* Jack-o-lantern made of pumpkins during Halloween
* Cardboard house during Christmas.
