Farm Youth Volunteers

Trillium Creek Family Farm logo Teen and Goat at the Family Farm

The Family Farm exhibit offers visitors a chance to interact with animals such as goats, cows and pigs, as well as with the teens that care for them. From September through May teen volunteers are responsible for the daily operations of the farm and will work alongside farm mentors to make sure the animals are well cared for and visitors have a good time.

Teens in the 9th through 12th grades may become involved by becoming a Short Term Volunteer

Short Term Volunteers get a hands-on experience in animal care and public interaction. Students make a 21-hour commitment, usually completed in one 3-hour shift each week for seven weeks. Students help with some of the tasks involved in caring for animals in a zoo setting.

Teens who are not able to commit to a 21 hour Short Term position can sign up for a one day 3 or 6 hour volunteer experience at the Family Farm.
