Celebration of Packy’s life

February 18, 2017 - 10:00am to 11:00am

Over the course of half a century, Packy inspired millions of Oregon Zoo visitors and taught us a great deal of what we know about elephant care. He was the continent's oldest male Asian elephant, a cherished Portland icon and one of the most famous animals in the world.

Join us on the North Meadow Terrace to remember this magnificent pachyderm and celebrate his legacy. Featuring the Royal Rosarians, remarks by Tracy Barry and Bob Lee, and original music written and performed by Thomas Lauderdale.
