Painted turtle walk at Smith and Bybee Wetlands

Oregon's turtles are rare, shy and hard to find but Smith & Bybee Wetlands Natural Area is home to one of the state's largest populations of Western painted turtles. See these beautiful reptiles with the help of Metro naturalist, James Davis, who will have telescopes for a close look. Learn about the natural history of painted turtles and examine some shells of specimens found there.
