Oregon Zoo Camps offer unique and engaging experiences to connect kids with nature. Campers explore little-known areas of the zoo, meet animals face to face and leave inspired to care for the natural world.

About Oregon Zoo Camp
Weekly camps include educator-led tours of the entire zoo, -shirts and customizable journals.

The zoo offers two weeklong options for each grade level. Select one or both to enroll your camper. Campers may enroll in multiple Discovery Days.
Registration for all camps will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. The website will indicate in real time how many spaces are available in each camp and you will receive immediate email confirmation of your registration.
Full payment is required at registration. The zoo accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards. Checks made payable to Oregon Zoo are accepted only with mailed or hand-delivered registrations which are available to print below. Please complete one form for each child. Phone registration is not available.
Drop off and Pick Up
Camp drop off and pick up, including drop off for Early Care and Late Care pick up takes place at the Education Center entry. Your email confirmation will provide specific instuctions for your camp week.
Staff/ Student ratios
Our staff is screened for excellence in programming for children. All staff working with children, including substitute counselors, have successfully passed the Oregon Child Care Registry’s criminal background check. Counselor to student ratios are one to six for kindergarten and younger, one to eight for first and second grade, one to 10 for third through eighth grade. At no time is any child left unsupervised.
Lunch and snacks
Snacks are included in all camps. Lunch menus change daily. Vegetarian options are included but we are unable to accommodate other dietary restrictions. Possible entrée items include: hot dogs, corndogs, pizza and chicken nuggets. All meals include fruit, carrot sticks and a dessert. The Oregon Zoo cannot guarantee allergen-free food. If your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please pack your own snacks and lunches.
Lunch is not available for half-day camps (children four years through entering kindergarten) and must be registered for in advance. Lunch is not available to add on at camp and is available only for the full week for week long camps and by the day for Discovery Day camps.
Dinner is included for camps that stay late or overnight on Thursday. For the camps that stay overnight on Thursday, breakfast and lunch for the Friday are also included. The Oregon Zoo cannot guarantee allergen-free food. If your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please pack your own meals. Refrigeration and microwave use will be available to campers with special dietary needs.
Weekly lunch fees
Kindergarten through fifth grade: $40 per week
Sixth through eighth grade: $32 per week (lunch is included on Friday following the overnight)
Discovery Day lunch fees:
$8 per day
Early and Late Care
Children are supervised in a classroom with a variety of animal-themed, free-choice learning activities. Pre-registration is required. Capacity for Early and Late Care is limited so please note that it may not be possible to add extended care after your initial registration.
Late care is not available for half-day camps. Early and Late Care are only available for the full week for week long camps and by the day for Discovery Day camps.
Early Care: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–8:10 a.m.
$25 per full week
$5 per day for the Discovery Days camps (not available for week long camps.)
Late Care: Monday–Friday, 3:30 p.m.–6:00 p.m.
$60 per full week
$12 per day for the Discovery Days camps (not avalable for week long camps.)
Medication cannot be administered or dispensed by staff. Campers must be able to take their own medication. However, staff can carry medications and help children remember to take them. Lead camp staff and the zoo’s full-time security staff are EpiPen trained.
Zoo security staff are first aid, CPR and automatic emergency defibrillator (AED) trained. All camp staff are trained to respond to emergency situations. Lead camp staff are first aid trained.
When registering, parents are asked to list the names of authorized transporters. Everyone picking up a child from camp will be required to present photo ID that matches a name on that list or a Pick Up Pass that will be distrubted on Monday.
Please detail any physical, academic or social special needs your child has that our staff should be made aware of. Special needs will be accommodated to the best of our ability provided we know in advance of your camp week. If your child is not self-sufficient, you will be asked to provide a non-parent aide for the week of camp.
Refunds, minus a 10% administrative fee, will be made only if your cancellation is received before June 3, 2019. After June 3, 75% refunds will be given if cancellation is made at least ten business days before the start of the camp session. No partial refunds will be given for missed camp days.
Waiting lists are compiled for all full camps. Please contact the zoo's Education Office to be placed on a waitlist.
Our camp program is designed for children who are able to be successful in group-oriented programs without parent involvement.
