Sea Otter Awareness Week

September 20, 2022 - 09:00am to September 22, 2022 - 06:00pm

Join us for Sea Otter Awareness Week from Sept. 20 to 22, with activities to connect visitors with one of the most playful species at the zoo.

Sea otters like Lincoln, Juno and Uni Sushi are a keystone species, which means they play a critical role in the Pacific Coast marine ecosystem.

Today, sea otters live along the central coast of California, Washington, Canada and Alaska. Though historically native to Oregon, wild sea otters have not established colonies off the Oregon coast since 1907. Learn more about efforts to bring sea otters back to Oregon
