What's all this about Groundhog Day? Punxsutawney Phil may hog most of the attention, but zoo experts say hedgehogs are the ones to watch. Celebrate Hedgehog Day at the zoo, where an African pygmy hedgehog will make its prediction: Will it be an early spring, or six more weeks of winter? Free with zoo admission.

The Dine and Discover event "Let's Get It On" features a fun and fascinating presentation about the zoo's animal breeding programs. It's the perfect learning opportunity for Valentine's Day! Includes a four-course menu paired with Northwest wines.

New Cheetahs

Cheetahs have returned to the Oregon Zoo! Watch a video of Ranger and Strike as the two young brothers explore their new home, then stop by the zoo's Predators of the Serengeti exhibit for an up-close look.

Animal Migration

Work is complete on the new water-saving filtration system at the penguin exhibit, and repairs to the HVAC system are under way. In the meantime, penguins can still be seen in the winter pool of the polar bear exhibit. Stay tuned for progress updates.

Lorikeets have flown south for the winter! Lorikeet Landing will be closed until March 1, 2012.
