Zoo Doo is back

July 24, 2012 - 6:24pm

The Oregon Zoo is once again offering Zoo Doo to the public. Zoo Doo is produced from herbivore manure and bedding — much of it courtesy of the prolific pachyderms – which has been allowed to compost for a couple of months. It makes excellent fertilizer for gardens, and the best part is, it's free!

Zoo Doo is available Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call to place your order no later than 5 a.m. the day of pickup at 503-226-1561 ext. 5133. Leave a message with your name, the date and time you will be at the zoo for pickup, the approximate amount of Zoo Doo you would like, and whether you will be hand-loading your vehicle or require tractor assistance.

Directions for pickup: After exiting Highway 26, head up the hill a couple hundred feet and turn right into Gate A. Once through the gate, take an immediate right into the gravel parking lot and head straight to the Zoo Doo facility. Someone will meet you there.

Note: Not for resale or commercial use.
