This Earth Week, celebrate where it matters most: in nature!
Celebrate Earth Week by exploring boldly, traveling thoughtfully, and reconnecting with the natural spaces that make Portland special. For one week, Washington Park will transform into a park-wide adventure.
From wildlife encounters and world-class gardens to museums, forest trails, and playgrounds, Earth Week is your invitation to explore Portland's premier park in a new way. Look for special Earth Week signage and let it guide you to hands-on activities, conservation moments, and pop-up experiences designed to connect you with the culture, diversity, and wonder of nature.
Along the way, you can:
- Join a free, educational activity at the Oregon Zoo entry plaza (no admission required).
- Volunteer for the trees and trails, take a tour, or explore spring blooms at Hoyt Arboretum.
- Create forest-inspired crafts and attend story time at World Forestry Center.
- Experience the beauty and seasonal highlights of Portland Japanese Garden.
- Wander through the iconic International Rose Test Garden.
Each stop offers a new way to celebrate the planet. Whether you're learning, volunteering, crafting, strolling or simply pausing to notice what's blooming. See all of the event details here.
Make your visit green
Earth Week is also about how you get here. Ride TriMet and enjoy a car-free trip to Washington Park. It's one of the simplest, most impactful ways to reduce your footprint while spending time outdoors.
