Membership terms and conditions
1. Agreement and general terms
When you purchase, renew, or upgrade a membership, you agree to these Membership terms and conditions, which may change over time.
As an Oregon Zoo member, you're vital to our mission to conserve endangered wildlife and create exceptional habitats and enrichment for animals. Here's what you need to know:
The main perk of membership is enjoying daytime access to the zoo. The Oregon Zoo may adjust the membership program based on operational needs. Membership prices and benefits can change without notice, but alterations to benefits beyond daytime access for covered individuals do not breach these terms and conditions. For the latest benefits, visit oregonzoo.org/membership.
Memberships are for household use only and cannot be shared or used for commercial purposes.
Memberships are non-refundable and final. Special promotions or discounts cannot be combined or applied retroactively.
Memberships last for 365 days from the purchase date and cannot be postponed or suspended.
Memberships remain active at the level purchased until the expiration date, unless upgraded before that date. Renewed memberships will begin the day after the current membership expires. If you renew early, you may not have immediate access to any changes in your renewed level.
Renewing your membership adds 365 days to the expiration date.
Any changes to your membership package at renewal take effect at the start of your new membership cycle. For example, if your current membership covers 2 adults and 1 child and expires on October 1, and you renew at the 2 adults, 1 child, and 1 guest level before that date, your new benefits will begin on October 2.
You can upgrade your membership at any time by contacting Membership Services.
Members are responsible for keeping their contact information up-to-date.
2. Membership eligibility and identification
Basic memberships can be customized by selecting Named Adults, Children, and Guests.
Named Adult members must be 18 years or older with a valid photo ID.
All Named Adult members using a membership to enter the zoo must present a photo ID.
Named Adults may not be changed for the duration of the membership.
Named Adult caregiver options are available for purchase by contacting Membership Services.
3. Use of benefits and access
Benefits: The primary benefit of membership is year-round daytime admission.
Zoo access and other on-grounds membership benefits, like discounts on food, rides, or gifts, can only be used by Named Adult members. Members must show a digital card or other proof of purchase to access discounts on grounds.
Children and guests cannot use the membership or its benefits without a Named Adult present.
Online benefits: The primary Named Adult’s email is used to log in to the ticketing and membership platform to book discounted tickets, make reservations, renew your membership, or access the membership digital card. All secondary members must use the primary’s email and password to log in if they require access to online benefits.
Named Adult access and reservations may not be swapped out with anyone else, including unnamed guests or childcare-givers.
Membership benefits are valid during regular daytime zoo hours, excluding special events.
Timed-entry reservations are no longer required for daytime visits, but may still be needed for special events or visits outside regular hours. Reservations are strongly recommended for members without a digital or plastic membership card.
Parking is not included and is subject to availability.
Oregon Zoo participates in a reciprocal admission program with other zoos and aquariums.
4. Zoo policies, conduct, and misuse
Members must follow all zoo visitor policies.
Oregon Zoo reserves the right to adjust benefits at its discretion, with or without prior notice.
Misuse of membership may lead to immediate cancellation.
Termination of benefits, cancellation, or revocation of membership may occur for reasons including but not limited to: causing harm to zoo animals, staff, or guests; misuse or fraudulent use of membership privileges; intentional damage to zoo property; possession of weapons; or engaging in harmful behavior.
5. Closures and limitations
The zoo cannot be held responsible for closures due to factors beyond its control, such as force majeure, government regulations, natural disasters, pandemics, or weather-related issues.
The zoo is closed on Thanksgiving and December 25 and may have additional closures for special events.
Seasonal changes affect operating hours, with limited days during the winter months.
Closure updates will be promptly communicated on the zoo's website. For real-time availability, please visit oregonzoo.org.
6. Liability and permissions
By accepting the membership terms and conditions, you agree to release the zoo and its employees from liability for any bodily injury or property damage, even if resulting from negligence. You also grant permission for the zoo to use your likeness and that of your minor children for advertising purposes without additional consent.
By accepting the membership terms, you agree to receive communications from the Oregon Zoo Foundation and the Oregon Zoo. You may unsubscribe from zoo email marketing and membership communications using the links provided in the emails. Most communication will be via email, and the zoo does not share email addresses with third parties.
