Pika Watch Training

May 5, 2020 - 07:00pm to 09:00pm

Cascades Pika Watch engages community scientists to locate and map pika populations in Oregon

Pika are considered to be a sensitive indicator of climate change due to their inability to survive long periods of warm summer weather. Columbia River Gorge pika are of particular interest because they live at a lower elevation than any other pika population in the U.S.

Through Cascades Pika Watch, people can help scientists better understand changes in pika populations. Join us this summer - sign up for a training today! After training, you will be able to survey sites in the gorge and nearby surroundings to help us monitor pikas. Commitment is low – you must attend the training and then we ask that you make a minimum of two site visits between June and September.
