Cool Creature Crawl
As you explore the zoo, keep an eye out for whimsical animals created by Portland artist Mike Bennett.
The Oregon Zoo is home to more than a thousand animals, but only 20 of them are two-dimensional. These hand-painted new residents were created by Portland artist Mike Bennett for a scavenger hunt at the zoo: the Cool Creature Crawl, presented by First Tech Federal Credit Union.
Inspired by some of the lesser-known animals that call the zoo home, Bennett crafted a pacific lamprey, a naked mole rat and a crocodile monitor, among others. The cool creatures are located throughout the zoo—see how many you can find!
